2014 Year in Review

2014 was a really good year.  While we were faced with a few challenges and sad times, they were significantly outweighed by all of the great moments we had.  Earlier this year I listened to a TED Radio Hour podcast on happiness, well I actually listened to it three times because I liked it so much. (you can listen to it here)  In the podcast, David Steindl-Rast, a benedictine monk, speaks about gratefulness.  He says "It is not happiness that makes us grateful, its gratefulness that makes us happy."  That sentence has stuck with me for months. It's encouraged me to be truly grateful for everything that I have, and in return I have become a much happier person.  While I am very grateful for the big things like having a husband and family that loves me, a roof over our heads, and a job that I love, I'm so grateful for the little things that we've experienced this year.

We bought our first home and had fun with DIY projects
We welcomed George, our Airedale Terrier, to our family

Met our sweet niece Camille for the first time
Challenged our diet in a way I never thought possible
We had great times with family...
...and friends!
We hosted our first party at our house
Took our 2nd anniversary trip to Wilmington, NC...
... and returned to the beach to celebrate Christmas with family.

I'm so excited to see what 2015 will bring!  Happy New Year everyone!
